HELLO! Whether you are a new joiner or an existing parent, we would like to tell you a little bit about the Friends, in the hope you’ll consider joining us.
WHO ARE THE FRIENDS?
Every parent and carer at Egerton School. Our aim is to bring the pupils, staff, families and the wider community together and enhance our children’s time at the school. We organise and host a wide variety of events throughout the year to raise much needed funds for the school. It is a great way to meet people, feel part of the school community and make a real difference.
WHAT IS THE MONEY SPENT ON?
In recent times, the Friends have been able to pay for Forest School training and equipment, reading books, book bags and playground equipment. We also subside the cost of school trips by £300 per class and pay for transport to the annual Panto trip (c. £200 per class).
HOW MUCH DO WE NEED TO RAISE?
Sadly all school budgets are diminishing, so our support is more important than ever. It is estimated that in 2020 there will be a shortfall of approximately £21,000 or £107 per child. This year we need to raise at least £10,000 to help support the school.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Every parent or carer is welcome to join the Friends – in fact, we’d love you to join us!
