Friends of Egerton (PTA)

Money raised in the 2021/2022 academic year

HELLO!    Whether you are a new joiner or an existing parent, we would like to tell you a little bit about the Friends, in the hope you’ll consider joining us.

WHO CAN BE A FRIEND?

Every parent and carer at Egerton School.

Our aim is to bring the pupils, staff, families and the wider community together to enhance our children’s time at the school. We organise and host a wide variety of events throughout the year like the Bluebell Run, Christmas Fairs, quizzes, discos, and fun events for the kids. We also raise much needed funds for the school.  It is a great way to meet people, feel part of the school community and make a real difference.

WHAT IS THE MONEY SPENT ON?

Since November 2017, the Friends have been able to donate in excess of £20k to support the school and its activities.  To give you a flavour of the sums involved:

Forest School

£2,140

Science workshops

£1,300

School trips (travel)

£5,500

Reading books

£3,137.99

Panto

(travel)

£6,200

Playground equipment

£2,707

Howletts Science trip

£3294

HOW MUCH DO WE NEED TO RAISE?

Sadly all school budgets are incredibly stretched, so our support is more important than ever.  Pre-coronavirus, it was estimated that in 2020 there will be a shortfall of approximately £21,000 or £107 per child.  This year we need to raise at least £10,000 to help support the school.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Every parent or carer is welcome to join the Friends – in fact, we’d love you to join us!
