In September our Year 5 class travelled to Canterbury to visit the cathedral. Travelling by train was a great option, we are grateful to all the parents who delivered and picked up children from our local station.
The visit was to link with the RE question ‘How is God loving and holy?’, and more specifically ‘What do cathedrals show about what Christians believe about God?’
As well as a full guided tour of the cathedral, the children also took part in a variety of workshops, where they looked at stained glass, made brooches and designed a crest. The children also had the opportunity to see how difficult it is to chisel stone!
On their return to school the children have written diary entries of their day at Canterbury Cathedral.
