Admissions

Is your child due to start school in September 2027?

If so, we would be delighted to arrange a personal tour of the school with our headteacher, Mrs Julia Head.

Please contact the school office on 01233 756274 or email office@egerton.kent.sch.uk to book a mutually convenient day and time.  We have a selection of days and times available, from now until the middle of December.

If you have a child who is due to start school, we warmly encourage you to book a tour. This is an ideal opportunity to:

  • See our Reception classroom and outdoor learning areas in action
  • Ask questions specific to your younger child's needs
  • Discuss any concerns or queries you may have about the transition to school
  • Ask any questions you may have about our approach, curriculum and facilities
  • Experience the warm and welcoming environment we offer all our pupils

Starting school in September 2027

Children should start primary school if born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023.

Have you recently moved into the area and are looking for a school place for your child?

Please contact the school office to find out if we have a space for your child.

Your emphasis on encouraging and weaving the school's values into the very fabric of the school is what makes Egerton the school of our choice.  We appreciate that every child is valued.

Our school PAN is 30.  Please note that admissions to our Reception Class are handled by KCC, and we follow their admissions criteria.  The admission of pupils with disabilities is the same as those applied to pupils without disabilities. The school fully complies with the Equality Act 2010 and the School Admission Code in relation to the arrangements for the admission of disabled pupils.  Where a child is disabled, the school will make reasonable adjustments and provide resources to ensure that no disabled child is placed at a substantial disadvantage compared to other pupils.

Admission Arrangements if you are moving from another school

Have you recently moved into the area and are looking for a school place for your child?

We would be happy to show you around our school at a mutually agreed time. We welcome visits from prospective parents during the working day. Visiting us at this time allows you to meet both staff and children and see first-hand what our school has to offer your child.

Please contact the school office on 01233 756274 or email office@egerton.kent.sch.uk to arrange a mutually convenient time.

If the year group you require is full, we can add you to our waiting list.  Spaces may become vacant during the school year, and if this happens we will refer to our waiting list and offer places in accordance with the criteria laid out in the Kent County Council guidelines.

Appeals

If your child's application for a place at the school is unsuccessful, you will be informed why admission was refused and given information about the process for hearing appeals.

Appeals will be held in line with Kent County Council's procedures.  Information can be found at Primary Admissions
