Our School Houses
1 Corinthians 12:12 of the Bible
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”
At Egerton CEP School, every child and member of staff belongs to one of our four houses: Flourish, Justice, Dignity or Spirituality.
Our houses bring together children from across the school, helping them to form new friendships, work as a team and contribute to school life. Children can earn house points by demonstrating our Christian values, working hard, helping others and making a positive difference.
Each house represents an important part of our Christian vision, “Together we inspire, nurture and thrive,” and has its own colour, symbol, inspirational representative and special day of celebration.
Flourish House – Green
Grow • Discover • Care
Flourish House encourages us to become the best that we can be while helping other people, animals and the natural world to thrive. Its inspirational representative is Sir David Attenborough, whose curiosity, knowledge and care for our planet remind us to keep discovering and growing.
Justice House – Red
Fair • Brave • Equal
Justice House teaches us to recognise unfairness, listen to others and have the courage to speak up for what is right. Its inspirational representative is Malala Yousafzai, who bravely campaigned for every child’s right to receive an education.
Dignity House – Blue
Respect • Value • Belong
Dignity House reminds us that every person has value and deserves to be treated with respect. Everyone should feel welcomed, listened to and included. Its inspirational representative is Greta Thunberg, whose story shows that young people’s voices matter and that nobody is too small to make a difference.
Spirituality House – Yellow
Wonder • Reflect • Connect
Spirituality House encourages us to pause, notice and wonder. We reflect on ourselves, connect with other people and consider the world and things beyond ourselves. For Christians, this includes developing their relationship with God. Its inspirational representative is Bear Grylls, whose adventures, resilience and Christian faith encourage us to explore, reflect and appreciate the world around us.
Although we belong to four different houses, we remain one Egerton family. We celebrate one another’s achievements, encourage every team and work together to ensure that everyone can flourish.
